BARB AT 3 MOS
|
|

This picture was taken up in Northern
Michigan 1938-39. I was about 4 or 5 years. He taught me early. I think
it's a very good picture of Dad. He sure was handsome. Barb

TINY
@ AGE 13.......... You can't tell the difference between her and
I at that age. I'm a clone except for the hair. Hers was light at
13 and turned almost black. Mine stayed blond then turned white.
LOL I got her looks but the psyche is all Bryant. Of course, Mom
looked like Grandma Nellie. I always said Dad married a woman who
looked just like his Mom. Grandma Nellie had dark hair when she
was a kid, by the looks of that old school picture. All the Bryants
had dark hair. I don't know exactly where the blonde came from.
Dads hair was sandy colored when he was young, but it got dark later
on. Barb 5-25-02

AUSTIN
& HIS ANTIQUE TRACTOR
In
response to Bills query: Yes, it is an old Wisconsin Engine. When
Dad needed parts for it, he'd order them from a big Company in Chicago.
I can't for the life of me remember the Company name, and I always
made out and sent in the orders. Maybe some of you guys know what
it is. It's a big famous place. You can still get parts for Model
T's from them. My Dad bought that tractor from my husbands Uncle
who lived in Michigan. He paid $300 for it in the late 50's. When
Dad died he left the tractor to my husband. As far as I know, he
still has it. I finally remembered the name of the place where Dad
got all his tractor parts. J.C. Whitney's out of Chicago. Those
neurons are sure getting slow. Just a note about Dads antique tractor.
He rigged up a water pump on that tractor, ran a big hose into the
adjoining creek and when his garden got dry he'd start up the tractor
and pump water for irrigation. He used a 2 inch hose and could pump
water 30 feet up in the air. Barb 5-31-02
